How is the Excel DRI Sleeper™ bed wetting alarm different from other bedwetting alarms?
The DRI Sleeper™ alarm unit is small (about half the size of a credit card, but 5/8 inch or 15 mm thick), in bright, child friendly colours.
The Excel DRI Sleeper™ Bedwetting alarm has special electronics
When the detector is wet by urine, it triggers the alarm unit to start beeping, and almost instantly the alarm unit isolates itself from the detector, and then keeps on beeping but with no current running through the detector.
This is quite different from most other alarms, they have current flowing through the detector as long as the alarm is beeping. The problem with this, is that even though the current may be small and is completely safe, that small electric current can still cause the urine to become acidic, and this can irritate the child's skin.
In the case of the DRI Sleeper™, this cannot happen, because there is no current in the detector.

How long will treatment take?
Typically treatment takes 3 to 6 weeks, but as with the treatment of any condition there is a great deal of variability. e.g., some children will respond and be finished with treatment within a week, a larger group take 3-6 weeks, and a small group takes longer.

How is the DRI Sleeper™ Urosensor™ detector different from other detectors?
The DRI Sleeper™ Urosensor™ is a completely new patented technology to detect urine and is available in no other detector. It is non metallic and so cannot corrode or irritate. It is soft and flexible, instantly washable in soap and water (or alcohol if you want to sterilize it). It is thin at only 1/8 inch (3.5 mm), 1.5 inches long (40 mm) and 3/4inch (20 mm) wide. The size has been carefully designed to be wide enough and long enough to react quickly to urine, but small enough to be comfortable.
